Kwa wale wadau wasiokuwa na taarifa kwanza tupate historia ya wadada hawa Brick&Lace:
Nyanda and Nailah Thourborne were born in Kingston, Jamaica, to a Jamaican father and an American mother. They claimed that they always wanted to be singers. ``We are a hybrid,`` Nailah was quoted saying. The duo also appeared in many mix tapes before they were eventually signed on 180 Entertainment. Brick & Lace started working on their debut album in 2004, naming it ``Love Is Wicked`` in early 2005. They worked with many producers, who were impressed by their talent. They released their first single ``Never Never``, late 2006. ``Love Is Wicked`` is currently doing well in the world music chart. Their mother came up with the word `lace`, and Nyanda came up with `brick`, forming the origin of the band\'s name. Regarding their name, they say the name Brick and Lace derives from the different sounds that can be heard in our music. The brick side represents the gritty edge in our music, which is born in us because we are Jamaicans while the lace side represents our smooth harmony. They were the first female Jamaican group to be signed to Jive Records before being dropped from the label two months later.
The Jamaican R&B music group Brick & Lace will perform in Dar es Salaam on March 28 and 29. The premier show will be staged at Ubungo Plaza in the final of the Benchmark Productions - organized by Bongo Star Search (BSS) singing competition. The second show organized by East Africa Radio will be staged at Cine Club also in the city. Brick & Lace is a Jamaican R&B duo consisting of sisters, Nyanda and Nailah Thourborne. They are signed to Akon`s Kon Live Distribution, 180 Entertainment, and Geffen Records.Haya wadau wapenzi wa kujiachia Fursa imekuja na huwa haziji mara mbili tusikose siku hiyo kujiachia hapo Ubungo Plaza...........Kazi kwenu.......Live2party
